My Review: I LOVE LOVE LOVE this!! If you follow me on Twitter you’ve probably seen a handful of my tweets raving about how natural and easy to use this bronzer is. It has been my one and only go-to cheek product for months! In an effort to shop my stash I put this product aside to use some others in my collection and after a few days I quickly realized none of my other bronzers compare (not even my NARS Laguna).

If you’re a bronzer rookie or someone who is afraid of dark cheek products, you will love this. Although it’s nicely pigmented it does take some work to build up so it’s almost impossible to over do. Plus, it lasts all day without looking muddy or patchy. Oh, and I forgot to mention the best part about this is it smells like chocolate – so yummy!!

Recommended for: All skin types and those with light to medium complexions (anyone darker should try the original Chocolate Soleil Bronzer)

Would I re-purchase?: YES!! This product has proven to be the one and only bronzer I need in my entire collection!

I give this product 5 out of 5 hearts, I highly recommend this for those with light to medium complexions or anyone who is searching for a natural looking (and yummy smelling) matte bronzer.

My Review: I absolutely love this product! I’ve tried what seems like every dry shampoo on the market, only to be let down. Either they smell weird, their nozzles clog (ehem Rockaholic) or they leave my hair feeling dirtier than before I used the product. None of those are true with the Suave Professionals.

Featuring a light citrus scent and non-clogging nozzle, this product makes 2nd or even 3rd day styling a breeze. Although the product is white, I find it doesn’t leave a cloud of product on my hair – which is great for us dark haired gals! If you’re looking to add volume to your roots, this is a great option. Plus, it will not leave your hair feeling like there is a layer of build up.

Recommended for: All hair types

Would I re-purchase?: Already have! I’m on my 2nd bottle of this and will continue to buy until they discontinue – which I hope is never!

Hello, beauties! It’s pretty obvious from my lack of posts that I’ve been MIA from the beauty blogging world for quite some time. Although I miss blogging more than anything – I actually have a valid reason for my absence and hope you will all forgive me

For starters, if you follow me on Twitter than you’re probably aware that I’m pregnant (35 weeks 4 days to be exact!). Although I felt great during the first and second trimester, the third hasn’t been as kind to me. Around 30 weeks I developed PIH or pregnancy induced hypertension. My blood pressure pre-pregnancy was always around the 117/70ish range, but about 5 weeks ago that number jumped to 150/90. Per the recommendation of my OB I have started monitoring my bp at home and seem to average in the 140s/80s range (though it has been as high as 178/92 – SCARY!).

Thanks to my steadily increasing numbers I have been placed on bed rest until delivery, which will be sometime in the next 3 weeks! It’s been scary, but my doctors have been keeping a close eye on me and I’m thankful that it hasn’t progressed into pre-eclampsia.

In terms of beauty blogging, I have definitely missed it and despite my lack of posts I have not quit nor do I intend to. For those of you who have been pregnant, you’re most likely familiar with the fatigue that can come along with it. Which is a big reason why I have been missing since around June. Although I cannot make any promises to my posting schedule once my little one arrives, I do hope to remain active in the beauty blogging community.

Despite all of this, I have continued to use and try out new makeup, haircare and skincare items – many of which have already been photographed. So, hopefully I can take advantage of bed rest and get some reviews up before mommy hood becomes my new full time gig.

L-R: Pureology Precious Oil, S Factor True Lasting Color, Redken Argan 6 Oil, Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment Spray

Hey, beauties! Ever since I bought (and fell in love with) my first bottle of Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment I’ve been on a spending spree, trying what seems like every “oil” on the market. Below are reviews of a few oils that I’ve collected and have fallen in love with!

Pureology Precious Oil

First up, is Pureology Precious Oil. Although I received this for consideration, that in no way alters my views or opinions. To start off, this is a very pricey product but the high quality of its ingredients helps make up for that. Formulated with sunflower seed, coconut, olive and jojoba oils this hydrating oil provides high shine and a smooth sleek finish. It’s scent is hard to describe but its one that is pretty typical of natural products (meaning it doesn’t smell great but doesn’t exactly smell bad either). The smell will fade though, so if you’re nose is sensitive you don’t have to worry.

The consistency oft this is a lot thinner and more runny than most oils I’ve tried, but its surprisingly just as hydrating. Promising to restore manageability, softness and elasticity this oil is definitely at the top of my list of must haves!  Plus, not only is this formula extra gentle on color treated or damaged hair but its also earned a Green Seal for using non-toxic, non-irritating ingredients (meaning no harmful or yucky additives). BONUS: This product actually has 10 uses, find out more here: Pureology.com

S Factor True Lasting Color Oil

By far the best smelling oil in my collection is the S Factor True Lasting Color Oil. When I bought this I wasn’t even in the market for another oil, but my stylist applied it to my hair and the smell absolutely sold me. Aside from its yummy scent, this product works really great for smoothing the hair and calming frizz.  It has the thicker consistency of most oils I’m used to, making it easier to apply and less messy than the Pureology oil.

Although you can apply this to both wet and dry hair, I prefer to apply it once my hair is dry for the purpose of smoothing fly aways and adding shine. But, if you do choose to use this product in wet hair it has the added benefit of acting as a thermal protectant against your blow dryer and heat styling tools. Again, this is on the pricey side but S Factor products are extremely high quality and well worth the price tag. Plus, this nourishing oil only needs to be applied sparingly so the bottle should last you forever!

Redken All Soft Argan-6 Oil

Another great smelling oil is the Redken All Soft Argan-6 Oil. If you’ve ever used their All Soft line this has the exact same soft shea butter smell (which I love). Formulated to replenish lipids by penetrating the deepest layer of hair, this lightweight moisturizing oil works great for those with dry, brittle or color treated hair. Though it can also work for those lucky gals (and guys) who have normal, processed free hair as well.

Redken Argan-6 Oil (back of bottle)

This product isn’t as heavy as S Factor, but it still hydrates really nicely. I find myself reaching for this over all my other oils because its easy to use (meaning you won’t get a greasy look if you accidentally apply too much) and because its so lightweight.

However, I’m not sure I’d classify this as a true Argan oil since it feels and acts more like a serum. If you’re hair is on the thin side or you’re scared of heavier oils, this product would be perfect for you.

Macadamia Oil Healing Spray

The product that started my hair oil obsession is the Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment. It’s hydrating, healing and has actually improved the health of my hair. It has a funky smell (think CHI Silk Infusion) but its earned a permanent place in my arsenal of hair products.  Although I prefer the original oil version (which I didn’t have at the time I planned this post), this spray formulation is great for those who want a less intense version.

Formulated for all hair types, this treatment can be used on wet or dry hair and even in the shower as an addition to your conditioners. The spray is ultra fine making it hard to over do and great for those with fine hair. If you’re wanting a more intense therapy for your locks, I highly suggest the original treatment oil. But, if you’re after a lighter less heavy oil then highly suggest this spray formulation!

Bottom line, if you haven’t tried an oil then run out and buy one Oils have been the best thing to happen to my hair. My once brittle, dry and unruly locks have been transformed into soft, shiny, healthy hair. With so many to choose from, I hope you consider one of the amazing oils I talked about it!

The first shade, Last Call, is one of the most unique shadows I own in the purple/plum shade range. I held off on buying it quite sometime since I was convinced I could find a cheaper dupe for this $17 shadow. But, after swatching every similar shade I could find and scouring the internet for acceptable dupes I realized there isn’t anything else quite like this.

Last Call is a mixture of purple and cranberry. It’s not as royal or lavender as most purple shades on the market, yet it’s not red or cranberry either. My photos really don’t do this shade justice, I highly recommend swatching this in an ULTA or Sephora store!

The formula of these shadows are buttery smooth, velvet to the touch and extremely pigmented. The fact that UD has released new and “improved” formulas makes me wonder how amazing they must be since these are pretty much perfect. Just one swipe into the product and you’ll get a beautiful swatch, they are such a breeze to use and photograph!

The wear on this is great, when applied over my Urban Decay Primer Potion I get all day 12+ hours with zero creasing or fading. You will get some fall out though, so be sure to tap off your brush and always apply a little at a time to avoid a mess!

The next shade, YDK, is featured in the new Naked2 palette and one that I instantly fell in love with. I was actually swatching the new Naked palette when I discovered this shade.

The formula and pigmentation of YDK is identical to Last Call, its buttery and so so pigmented! This bronzy shadow features a unique taupe undertone, making it different than most golden browns.

YDK looks great all over the lid, in the crease or when used as a liner. It’s slightly metallic without being glittery, leaving behind a pretty sheen on the lids. With my Urban Decay primer I get 12+ hours of perfect wear with this.

Pureology Purify + SuperSmooth Kit

Hey, beauties, I’m back with a hair review! Last month Pureology sent me this kit for consideration and after giving it tons of use, I’m finally ready to share my thoughts with you all!

Formulated to work together, this purifying shampoo and hydrating mask promises to deliver soft, shiney, frizz free hair. Formulated without sulfates, parabens and aminal by products, the Pureology range is 100% vegan and uses recycled packaging. Talk about eco-friendly!

The first part of this 2-step process involves the Purify Shampoo. Formulated to clairfy and cleanse, this gel like formula removes build up and dulling deposits left behind by styling products and environmental factors.

Despite the fact that its sulfate free, I was still able to produce a nice lather which helped to achieve that “squeeky clean” feel. However, the scent of this product is one that takes some getting used to. In fact, I find most Pureology products to have a slightly odd smell. Though, I credit their lack of yucky unnecessary ingredients for that But still, I would rather have no scent than the “earthy” organic smell of this product.

In terms of cleansing, this was good at removing build up without stripping my hair of its natural oils. I didn’t notice any extreme dryness or tangles immediately after washing it out, though it definitely didn’t feel as hydrated as it does when I use a non-clarifying shampoo.

Overall, I like this product and I think it would work great for those with damaged or sensitized hair. It was gentle and not too harsh like many other clarifying formulas can be.

The shining star of this kit is definetly the SuperSmooth Relaxing Hair Masque. I tweeted a few weeks ago about a product that left my hair softer and shiner than it had been in years, and THIS is the product I was referring to.

I have to say, I was blown away by this mask. It’s easy to apply, only takes a few minutes to work and actually does what it claims to do. Plus, its lack of yucky sulfates and parabens makes it a refreshing addition to my haircare stash!

Although Pureology is marketed primarily for those with color treated hair, anyone can use them. I haven’t chemically processed my hair in years, but I do swear by my flat iron and I do have damage. Plus, my hair is long (past the middle of my back), which means my ends can use all the nourishment they can get. This masque was excellent at not only mouturizing my hair, but for giving it the shine and bounce it normally only gets after a trip to the salon. I am very, very impressed!

If you’re like me and have troubles with SPFs breaking you out, I’m happy to report that Supergoop! has not caused a single pimple. But in case you’re curious, here are the specific ingredients included: Homosalate 10%, Octisalate 5%, Avobenzone (Parsol 1789) 3%, Octocrylene 2%.

What I love best about this product is how quickly it absorbs. The formula is perfect for the face, not too thick and not too watery. Although it does have a teeny hint of sun block smell, it thankfully fades after a few minutes of wear.

Despite the claims that this leaves the skin “shine free” it does in fact leave behind a dewy luminosity. It’s not greasy or heavy, but it’s definitely not matte. So, if you’re looking for a mattifying sunscreen this product may not be for you.

Overall, I’m very pleased with this product. It’s lightweight and easy to blend, plus it’s not full of yucky unnecessary ingredients like many other sunscreens on the market. Although the price may seem high ($28 for 3oz), the tube is quite large and compared to other higher end SPFs you get a lot for your money with this.

If you’re a subscriber of my blog (of if you follow me on Twitter) than you probably know that I’m obsessed with Chloe. Described as a fresh, smooth floral this beautiful scent is perfect for everyday whether you’re at the office or on a date with your guy. It’s classic and clean and unlike anything I own, plus its adorable square packing and delicate bow makes it the cutest addition to any fragrance collection.

Victoria Secret Very Sexy Touch

Very Sexy Touch is described as a tempting, sensual scent, which includes notes of apricot, amber and wood. I’ll admit, the YSL-esque packaging sort of sold me on this. The fragrance itself, is nice but definitely one that smelled nicer in the store than at home. I’m not sure if it was the mixture of other scents in the store, but I was surprisingly disappointed in this once I got it home.  Perhaps you’ll see this in a giveaway soon…

Dolce and Gabanna Light Blue is an oldie but goodie. It’s a scent I haven’t worn since I was in college but one I have never stopped liking. This is the scent I describe as the “man killer” because every single guy I’ve ever met has loved this fragrance. In fact, every time I’m browsing the scents at ULTA I always hear a guy say “that smells good!” after his girl hands him a bottle of Light Blue.

Described as feminine and irresistible, this scent includes notes of citron, granny smith apple, jasmine, cedarwood and amber. This is a true citrus, its fresh and light and perfect for spring or summer. I love it!

Ralph Lauren Big Pony #3 has quickly become my new “go to” fragrance. Described as representing feminine radiance and ultimate optimism, this soft floral includes notes of pear and mimosa.

My husband wears the Ralph Lauren Big Pony #3 for men (green bottle) and is the one who initially picked this out for me. He not only loved the way it smelled, but he also thought it would be funny if we both wore #3.

I’ve only had this bottle a few short weeks and I’ve already gone through nearly half of it! That’s how much I love this, its soft, fresh, floral and so so pretty!! If you’re a fan of Tommy Girl or Burberry The Beat then I think you’ll love this. I am so happy my husband picked it out, its my new everyday scent!

Zoya Beach & Surf Polishes L-R: Rory, Arizona & Shelby

Hey, beauties!  The new Beach & Surf polishes from Zoya are bright, fun and super pretty. These vibrant pops of color caught my eye from all the way across the store. I just couldn’t resist such summery shades!

Rory is the most unique shade I purchased, in some lights it looks pink and in others it looks purple. What makes this polish even prettier are the tiny micro shimmers, which adds a beautiful dimension without making it gritty or rough on the nails.  Along with its smooth, fast drying formula Rory is the most pigmented and looks ready to go even after just one coat.

Arizona is a shade I initially over looked, that is until I got to the register and was told Zoya was buy 2, get 1 free. As I headed back to the display, I figured I’d get a polish I wouldn’t ordinarily purchase. I mean it was free, so what did I have to lose?

Turns out, I love this color! It’s fun and festive and perfect for your hands or toes.  At first I was afraid a pumpkin orange polish would look strange, but since it’s almost summer this bright hue is definitely poolside appropriate.

The formula of Arizona is just what I expected from Zoya. It’s creamy, easy to work with and opaque after just one coat (though a lightly applied second coat is usually needed to polish off the look).

Shelby is a shade I suspect will be one of the more popular in this collection, its a bright blue based pink perfect for achieving that Barbie doll look – ok, I admit it sorta looks like Pepto Bismol, but its still pretty!

As far as the formula goes, again I have zero complaints. This polish is creamy, opaque and streak free. Oh, and I should mention that Zoya is free of toxins so you won’t burn your nose applying them. For me, that’s a major plus since nail polish usually stinks not only during application but while on my nails as well.

Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blushes

Out of all the makeup items in my collection, my blushes are my most loved. There is just something incredible about finding that perfect blush, one that can make you look naturally radiant and flushed.

Although my collection consists of blushes from all price ranges and brands, these two from Hard Candy are some of my most adored. Part of the Blush Crush Baked Blush line (try saying that 5x fast) these luminous blushes are incredibly smooth and easy to work with. Because of their baked consistency they also last all day on the skin, leaving behind a beautiful sheen and a healthy glow.

The first BCBB (Blush Crush Baked Blush) I purchased was Pin Up. Although it appears to be more of highlight, for me (MAC NW20) this product can actually be used has a blush.

The finish of this is stunning, perfect for anytime of year. This slightly dewy terracotta shade is great for when my skin needs a little pick me up, and at times (if I’m really pale) can actually look a bit like a bronzer. But, if you have darker skin have no fear as this would work beautifully as a highlight as well.

What I’m most impressed with about this product (besides its BEAUTIFUL color) is how long it lasts on my cheeks. If applied in the morning before work, it still looks the same when I get home at 5pm. It’s never blotchy or cakey either, its one of the best blushes I’ve ever purchased from a drugstore and best of all, its less than $8.00!

Since Pin Up was quickly becoming my “can’t live without” cheek product, I decided to head back to the store to see what other shades were offered in the BCBB line up.   That’s when I found Living Doll, a blue-based pink with gold veining.

Depending on how you apply Living Doll it can look subtle and light or darker and intense (apply wet for more intense color payoff).  For a while I was on the hunt for the perfect cool toned pink blush and while I lusted after products like NARS Desire and Illamasqua Nymph, I ultimately decided to go with Living Doll and I am so happy I did (not to mention my wallet is about $20 bucks richer!).

The look and feel of these blushes reminds me of MACs Mineralized Skin Finishes (without the $28 price tag). They are finely milled, nicely pigmented and really easy to blend. If you’re interested in MACs skin finishes, but can’t justify the price I’d check out these Hard Candy blushes (available at Wal-Mart stores and online).
