Since May is Skin Cancer Awareness month I thought I’d share with you my current go-to sunscreen. But, before I get into my review I want to quickly discuss how important it is to wear an SPF every day. Rain or shine, winter or summer I apply a sunscreen every single morning. It’s one of the best things you can do to prevent skin cancer and ward off pre-mature aging, so be sure to slather on the SPF!
Okay, enough PSA now onto my review
The easy to blend, non-greasy formula of Supergoop! has quickly become one of my new favorites. It wears perfect on its own or under makeup and doesn’t leave behind a sticky, smelly residue like many other SPFs.
Formulated to protect the skin against broad spectrum short and long wavelength UV rays (PA++), this powerful sunscreen also includes skin conditioning antioxidants such as blueberry extract. That’s right, an SPF that not only protects against wrinkles, but one that helps fight them as well!
The easy to dispense pump makes it a breeze to apply, plus its fragrance free, paraben free and water resistant for up to 80 minutes!
If you’re like me and have troubles with SPFs breaking you out, I’m happy to report that Supergoop! has not caused a single pimple. But in case you’re curious, here are the specific ingredients included: Homosalate 10%, Octisalate 5%, Avobenzone (Parsol 1789) 3%, Octocrylene 2%.
What I love best about this product is how quickly it absorbs. The formula is perfect for the face, not too thick and not too watery. Although it does have a teeny hint of sun block smell, it thankfully fades after a few minutes of wear.
Despite the claims that this leaves the skin “shine free” it does in fact leave behind a dewy luminosity. It’s not greasy or heavy, but it’s definitely not matte. So, if you’re looking for a mattifying sunscreen this product may not be for you.
Overall, I’m very pleased with this product. It’s lightweight and easy to blend, plus it’s not full of yucky unnecessary ingredients like many other sunscreens on the market. Although the price may seem high ($28 for 3oz), the tube is quite large and compared to other higher end SPFs you get a lot for your money with this.
QUICK RUNDOWN:

Great review, Julie! I have actually never tried out or even heard of this brand before! It sounds great! I currently use a Neutrogena one and like it but wish that it would give a matte finish to the skin! I wonder if that even exists!
thanks for recommending this product! I was relying on the spf in my regular foundation but now I use this under that. It goes on smooth and feels very light, not sticky at all.
Also thanks for your custom recommendations for me. I am happy with all the products you recommended and look forward to more personalized consulations!
You’re very welcome!! Glad you like!
I have to try this ! I’m using Cerave am right now, which I have no complaints about, but I like that this one has natural antioxidants. Young women don’t take sun protection seriously enough.
It seems to be a good product.I always use moisturizers with sunscreen But my sky is dry .How well this product will work on my skin?I am looking for a product which can keep my skin free from dryness and protect from sun rays as well.
Hi! This product works great for my combo/dry skin but what I like to do on days when my skin is particularly dry is add in a pump of Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion to it and it works great!
