Stila: Love at First Blush

Stila Love at First Blush

Happy Leap Year! Since it’s the last day of February I didn’t want to miss out on reviewing this beautiful limited edition Valentines Day blush from Stila. You can find this at ULTA and Sephora (where its still in stock online) for only $14, talk about a great price!

Featuring three different shades, this shimmery pink blush can be customized to either a barely there finish or a deeper, more intense bright cheek look. Although it looks quite shimmery in the pan, the glitter doesn’t transfer onto the skin.

Each individual color has nice pigmentation and a soft consistency, even the glittery shades are smooth (I assumed they would be gritty or rough). Just watch out for excess powder when you swirl your brush though it!

Heavy application of Stila Love at First Blush

In the photos above, I applied this blush pretty heavily in order for it to pick up in photographs.  However, because its not overly pigmented you can get away with applying a bit more than usual (making it great for beginners).

The first blush that came to mind when I swatched Love at First Blush, was my new Sunday Afternoon Face Powder from MAC. When photographed side by side you can see they are definitely similar, but the MAC product features an iridescence while the Stila product has more of a matte finish.

Both of these blushes are natural looking and buildable on the cheeks, only difference is the finish and the price. If you’re in the market for a frosty blush, and you aren’t concerned with price, then I’d go with MAC (you can check out my full review here).

If the thought of a “frosty” blush scares you away, or you’re on a tighter budget, then I recommend Love at First Blush. It contains about half the amount of product, but it’s also half the price. Plus, it also comes in a set along with two lip glazes for only $20!

As for you makeup junkies, why not check out both! ;)

  1. This looks so pretty & is very flattering on you! I love that the Stila one is more matte — definitely my kind of blush for sure. I will have to see about checking it out, but as usualy my list is so long. I haven’t even tried out the Stila Lip Glazes so it could be worth it to try them since they come in a set! Thanks, Julie! :)

I was excited to see this was still in stock on Sephoras website, its such a cute blush! The lip glazes have nice pigmentation and smell like vanilla, but they are sticky so beware! :)
