NOTD: Essie To Buy or Not to Buy

Essie To Buy or Not to Buy

To buy, or not to buy…that is the question ;) Okay, I admit it the name alone sold me on this nail polish. How could I not buy it, it was teasing me with just its name!

This beautiful light lilac caught my attention as soon as I laid eyes on it.  I knew right away I had nothing like it in my collection, and since I’ve been so impressed with Essie lately I decided to try it out.

I painted my nails yesterday afternoon with two coats of this polish and instantly fell in love. Just like the other Essie formula’s I’ve tried, this one is easy to apply, streak free and opaque in two coats.

However, as you can probably see from the photos I’ve already experienced slight chipping on the tips…and it hasn’t even been 24 hours. That’s not an Essie specific problem though, it’s an issue I have with all nail polishes. I use my hands a lot on daily basis and I’m clumsy, constantly bumping my hands into things (what can I say, I’m a Gemini). So, if you have any GREAT topcoats be sure to suggest them in the comment section! :)

Aside from the chipping issue, I really like this polish. It’s gives a nice pop of color and makes me feel as if Spring is already here. Plus, the fact that this is a pastel makes it subtle and easy to pull off and wonderful for those looking for a fun color without the “in your face” result.

Retailing for $8 you can find this at ULTA and online (and everywhere else Essie is sold).

QUICK RUNDOWN:

  • Retails for $8.00
  • Opaque in 2 coats
  • Easy to apply
  • Streak Free

What’s on your nails today?

XOXO,

Julie
