Hey, beauties! I’ve been testing out this Color Tattoo in Too Cool all week and absolutely love it! It has the same creamy texture and rich color payoff as the other Tattoos I’ve reviewed and looks stunning when used as base or highlight.
As you can tell from the photos, Too Cool is a stark shimmery white that makes for an excellent base. Since the shade is very cool toned and metallic, I wouldn’t use this on its own other than as a highlight.
My favorite way to wear this has been underneath powder shadows. It gives a beautiful sheen and luminescence to any color and holds my shadows in place all day without any creasing.
I’m most impressed with the the smooth, buttery consistency of these shadows. They’re really easy to blend and you don’t have to tug at your lids to achieve your desired look. I prefer to apply these with my fingers, but any synthetic eye brush will work as well.
To compare this to a MAC Paint Pot I swatched it next to Bare Study. Although they are quite different in color, their textures and color payoff are identical.
In terms of lasting power, I find that MAC paint pots tend to fade after about 8 hours while the Color Tattoos hold up all day/night. Although, I haven’t tested these out for a full 24 hours (because staying up all night isn’t an option), I am impressed with how excellent they hold up in the 8-14 hour range. Even though Too Cool isn’t a dupe for Bare Study, it’s still a great option for half the price!
Once again, you can find these at drugstores, Target, Wal-Mart and anywhere else Maybelline is sold for about $6-$8. Let me know which ones you’ve tried!
Next up: Pomegranate Punk & Audacious Asphalt!
XOXO,
Julie
